The north beach of the island of Norderney is a paradise for surfers. The most successful German windsurfing professional, Bernd Flessner, was born on Norderney and trained on the north beach. Numerous other athletes meet here and enjoy the rough climate and the stormy North Sea. In this series of shadow paintings I capture the dynamics of this sport.
