Shadow paintings

Objects with liveliness and great depth plasticity

My shadow paintings separate image motifs into a contour and a color plane. The contour plane is applied to glass. It illustrates the structure and structure of an object as a mostly black silhouette. I paint the color layer on the background with acrylic or oil paints. This level shows the colors typical for the motif and lies some distance behind the contour level. The predefined distance between the contour plane on the pane of glass and the color plane on the background creates a play of shadows that gives the works a high level of spatial depth. The effect of a shadow image changes with different lighting conditions, it appears lively and dynamic.
