This shadow painting captures the vastness of the landscape. On the shadowy level the salt marshes, on the color level the gentle and restrained blue gradients of the northern German sky. Painted from a photo from 1996, this piece of art reflects the typical lonely mood of the island of Juist and is one of my favorite works among the East Frisian motifs.
